Ethical Persuasion

During the peak of COVID and working from home in 2021 – Red Ventures hosted a virtual company-wide design conference to help boost morale and increase engagement across design teams. I volunteered to present on the topic of persuasive design and the ethical responsibility we have as designers.

My Role and Goals – Everything from selecting the topic to writing the script and creating and delivering the presentation. After suffering through countless Zoom meetings with audiences who are checked-out, I was determined to make my presentation stand out and keep my audience engaged. And let's be real - an audience full of creatives is a tough crowd. So, to ensure that everyone stayed focused (including myself!), I decided to incorporate 35 of my own hand-drawn illustrations, which perfectly complemented my talking points.

Results – Moderators of the Creative Summit said my presentation was the most lively of chats and the only one the audience came off mute to applaud! Audience feedback said “it felt like I was telling them a story.” Success!
